An early Berkey & Gay Furniture Co. mechanical swivel and spring, gilt incised, walnut drop leaf victorian parlor table: “hinged leaves hung to a stationary top, and two rigid legs arranged at diagonally-opposite corners while the legs at the other corners” pivot to an open position to support the leaves. Two recessed gilt incised, carved drawers in an gilt incised carved edge inset ‘American Cloth’ covered top (missing one section). Gilt incised carved, tapered, fluted, and turned legs and fluted stretcher with carved finial. Four wooden wheeled metal casters marked GMC PAT.1871. Drawers stenciled, inside and bottom, “Berkey & Gay Furniture Co.. Manufactures. Grand Rapids. Mich.”

Condition: missing one section of ‘American Cloth’ covered top, no chips, cracks, or restoration.

Dimensions: 28 1/2” height, 13 1/2” width (closed), 36” length and diameter (open).

This piece will need to be tightened up after truck delivery due to vibration on route.
